Our Chaplain is here for you

The American Legion Post Chaplain serves as the Post’s spiritual leader, offering non‑denominational guidance, moral support, and compassion to members of all faiths. Their mission is to help Legionnaires grow spiritually, provide prayers and rituals at meetings and ceremonies, support members in times of illness or loss, and uphold the Legion’s longstanding commitment to “For God and Country.” The Chaplain maintains awareness of members’ needs, offers confidential care, conducts or assists with funerals and memorials when requested, and reinforces the moral and spiritual values that anchor American Legion tradition. 

 

                           Key Responsibilities

  • Provides spiritual and moral support to Legionnaires of all faiths.

  • Offers prayers, invocations, benedictions, and leads rituals at Post functions.

  • Supports members in need through visits, cards, and participation in funerals or memorials. 

  • Upholds the Legion’s principle of “For God and Country” and fosters spiritual well‑being. 

  • Maintains confidentiality, integrity, and a non‑sectarian, inclusive approach.
